About $1,000 Start-Ups

In her book, "$1,000 Start-Ups: 60 Businesses for Micro-Entrepreneurs … and How to Start Them", Leah Ward Lee showed how it is possible to start a small business for $1,000. The success of the book as a guide for entrepreneurs led to the development of the Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, and Life Skills Program, launched as a live program conducted on Zoom in 2020 in Northeast Florida. Each year since a Cohort of entrepreneurs have completed the program, with dozens of small businesses launched and 90% still in business. The success of this curriculum inspired the idea to make this self-paced, systematic course available online to anyone, anywhere.
